1. What data we collect

When you use Agens, we collect the following categories of data:

Account data: Your email address and name, provided when you sign up via Clerk.
Resume data: The text content of resumes you upload for analysis. We store this to power resume scoring, gap analysis, and job matching.
Job preferences: Job titles, locations, and industries you specify when setting up your profile or searching for jobs.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, analyses run, and session timestamps. We use this to improve the product and understand how people use Agens.
Payment data: Billing information is collected and stored by Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to:

Run AI-powered resume analysis and generate your resume score and gap report
Match your profile to relevant job listings from our job data partners
Generate tailored cover letters and interview preparation content
Personalize your experience and surface the most relevant features
Improve the AI models and product features (using aggregated, de-identified data only)
Send transactional emails such as analysis results, account updates, and subscription receipts

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your resume content to train AI models without your explicit consent.

3. Third-party services

Agens uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.

Clerk — Authentication and user identity management. Clerk stores your email and login credentials.
Supabase — Our primary database. Your resume data, job preferences, and application history are stored here on servers within the EU/US region.
Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all billing data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
OpenRouter / Anthropic — AI inference. Resume text is sent to the AI model to generate analysis results. OpenRouter processes this data per their data retention policy (requests are not used for model training by default).
PostHog — Product analytics. We use PostHog to track anonymized usage events and understand feature engagement.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data, resume content, and job history for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will permanently delete all your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in anonymized, aggregated form for product analytics.

Stripe retains payment records as required by applicable financial regulations, independent of your Agens account status.

5. Your rights

You have the following rights over your data:

Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Deletion: Request that we delete your account and all associated personal data within 30 days.
Portability: Request an export of your resume data, job preferences, and analysis history in a structured format.
Correction: Update your account information at any time via Settings.
Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We use analytics cookies (PostHog) to understand how users navigate the product. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to ad networks.

7. Children's privacy

Agens is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the product. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
